The Star Wars Holiday Special !! (Video)

The Star Wars Holiday Special is a 1978 American musical science fiction television film set in the Star Wars galaxy. It stars the first film‘s main cast while introducing the character Boba Fett, who would appear in later films. It is one of the first official Star Wars spin-offs and was directed by Steve Binder.

In the storyline that ties the special together, Chewbacca and Han Solo visit Kashyyyk, Chewbacca’s home world, to celebrate Life Day. They are pursued by agents of the Galactic Empire, who are searching for members of the Rebel Alliance on the planet. The special introduces three members of Chewbacca’s family: his father Itchy, his wife Malla, and his son Lumpy, though these names were later explained to have been nicknames, their full names being Attichitcuk, Mallatobuck, and Lumpawarrump, respectively.

The program also features many other Star Wars characters, including Luke SkywalkerC-3POR2-D2Darth Vader and Princess Leia(who sings the film’s “theme song”, set to the music of John Williams‘ Star Wars theme, near the end), all of them portrayed by the original actors. The program includes stock footage from Star Wars,[1] and also features a cartoon produced by Toronto-based Nelvanathat officially introduces the bounty hunter Boba Fett. Scenes also take place in outer space and in spacecraft including the Millennium Falcon and an Imperial Star Destroyer. The variety-show segments and cartoon also take place in a few other locales, such as a Mos Eisley cantina on the desert planet of Tatooine and a newly introduced red ocean planet known as Panna.

The special is notorious for its extremely negative reception[2] and has never been rebroadcast or officially released on home video. It has therefore become something of a cultural legend, because of the “underground” quality of its existence. It has been viewed and distributed in off-air recordings made from its original telecast by fans, which were later adapted to content-sharing websites via the Internet and bootleg copies.

What If Chewbacca Was Voiced By Peter Griffin (Video)

Chewbacca’s trademark roar is undoubtedly one of the things that makes ‘Star Wars’ so special, and so iconic. So what if they’d got it wrong? We know Darth Vader originally had a totally unimposing and awful voice until James Earl Jones stepped in, so what if it had actually been ‘Family Guy’ star Peter Griffin in that wookiee suit?

The Young Han Solo Movie Will Explain How Solo And Chewbacca Came To Be

From Thewrap.com

Fans know very little about the 2018 Han Solo movie, except that it’ll be directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller. But the CEO of Disney, Bob Iger, just dropped a key piece of information about a supporting character in the film. A very obvious, very tall, and very hairy supporting character.

“We have other [stand alone movies] in the works, including one which is an origin story about Han Solo and [Chewie],” Iger said according to The Wrap. “And that’ll come after Star Wars 8 in 2018. And then there will possibly more thereafter.”

On the surface, Chewbacca being in the film seems pretty obvious, but this is the first confirmation of his presence. In fact, beyond the fact that Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has been quoted saying the young Solo will be played by an actor in his twenties, we hadn’t heard anything in regards to specifics in the movie. If Iger’s to be believed, we now know it’ll answer one of the biggest mysteries in the Star Wars canon: How did Han Solo and Chewbacca meet, and why is their bond so strong?

To be honest, this is one of those questions that never needed to be answered. They’re friends and partners. But it will kind of exciting to see exactly how it actually came together.

The currently untitled Han Solo Star Wars Story will be released May 25, 2018.

Chewbacca is tweeting the original Star Wars script

Star Wars first draft script is being tweeted by Chewbacca (WiredUK)

So, you’ve seen The Force Awakens, Episode VIII has only just begun filming, and there’s still 10 months until Rogue One arrives in cinemas. How to scratch that Star Wars itch in the meantime? Well, how about poring over the script for the movie that would become A New Hope?   Actor Peter Mayhew — better known to fans as Chewbacca — is posting pages from George Lucas’ first draft at Star Wars, when it was known (awkwardly) as “The Adventures of Luke Starkiller as taken from the ‘Journal of the Whills'”. While looking over a genuine cinematic curiosity is interesting enough in its own right, it’s the prelude to something potentially bigger, too.   “Starting today I’ll post a few pages from my original Star Wars script each day leading up to a big announcement,” Mayhew teased on Twitter. With only two pages (and the cover) of the coffee-stained “Whills” script posted, there’s no clue yet what that announcement might be though.   Read more : Click here to read more >>>>>   Original_DroidsOriginal Droids   Ralph McQuarrie’s original designs for C-3PO and R2-D2 are as different as the script Mayhew is tweeting out.
