Why Twin Peaks Was The Best Show Of 2017!!!!!

On May 17th 2017 Twin Peaks returned to TV, after a twenty five year layoff and it felt like maybe a week went by that we hadn’t seen it.  I never thought we would ever see Twin Peaks back after the movie Twin Peaks : Fire Walk With Me , but David Lynch and Mark Frost brought it back but also opened up the world of Twin Peaks to a new generation.

Lynch and Frost could have just returned to the town of Twin Peaks, but instead they created a new world with awesome characters as The Mitchum Brothers , Dougie Jones and so much more. These characters had the traits of Twin Peaks as they were weird and wild and fit into the Lynch universe perfectly.

It was just great to see all the old characters again such as Hawk, Lucy , Deputy Andy and the new Sheriff Truman . It was sad to see the end come for The Log Lady, as she passed after her final call to her friend Hawk….Goodnight Margaret……

It was great to finally see the elusive Diane played by the awesome Laura Dern in a hysterical role. And seeing FBI agents Cole and Albert back for their final mission was both awesome and sad , as the great Miguel Ferrer passed after filming of the show.

I know this wasn’t the last time we will get a visit to the town of Twin Peaks, but who knows what Lynch and Frost have in mind for us and the people who populate that town.  Welcome back Twin Peaks, and I hope it doesn’t take another twenty five years to see you again……….

At the San Diego Comic-Con panel for Showtime’s revival of “Twin Peaks” on Friday, things got a little weird at times, but the love for the strange soap opera — among the cast and fans assembled in Hall H — was palpable.

Cast members Kyle MacLachlan, Tim Roth, Dana Ashbrook, Kimmy Robertson, Everett McGill, Matthew Lillard, James Marshall, Don Murray, and Naomi Watts were joined by moderator Damon Lindelof. Here are some highlights from the hourlong discussion of the drama:

Twin Peaks 90’s Vs. Twin Peaks The Return !

I have to start out saying, i’m a huge fan of David Lynch’s Twin Peaks since it first aired in the late 90’s. It was surreal and was just nothing WE ever saw on television before. It was more like a regular tv show on acid. We had dwarfs dancing and talking backwards, sometimes the show felt more like a long acid trip then a actual tv show. But with the 90’s shows you could see that Lynch was playing the network television game. Twin Peaks of the 90’s was more like regular tv shows , as the new show in 2017 is like nothing we have seen before.

Now for The Return version that debuted in May of 2017. You could tell just by the way it is filmed that this is what Lynch wanted to get across in the 90’s but was held back from network tv. Lynch has opened up the world of Twin Peaks with this return, as it takes place all around the country and starting with the infamous Episode 8 show even went back to the 40’s and 50’s to somehow show us the origins of everything we have watched. I love with Twin Peaks, you have no idea what will show up each week , and that makes it one of the best shows ever. Lynch has thrown the regular tv show concept and created his own work of art. With 10 shows left of the return, will we get answers to all our thousands of questions, or will we have to wait another 25 years to find the rest out.
