At the San Diego Comic-Con panel for Showtime’s revival of “Twin Peaks” on Friday, things got a little weird at times, but the love for the strange soap opera — among the cast and fans assembled in Hall H — was palpable.
Cast members Kyle MacLachlan, Tim Roth, Dana Ashbrook, Kimmy Robertson, Everett McGill, Matthew Lillard, James Marshall, Don Murray, and Naomi Watts were joined by moderator Damon Lindelof. Here are some highlights from the hourlong discussion of the drama:
I have to start out saying, i’m a huge fan of David Lynch’s Twin Peaks since it first aired in the late 90’s. It was surreal and was just nothing WE ever saw on television before. It was more like a regular tv show on acid. We had dwarfs dancing and talking backwards, sometimes the show felt more like a long acid trip then a actual tv show. But with the 90’s shows you could see that Lynch was playing the network television game. Twin Peaks of the 90’s was more like regular tv shows , as the new show in 2017 is like nothing we have seen before.
Now for The Return version that debuted in May of 2017. You could tell just by the way it is filmed that this is what Lynch wanted to get across in the 90’s but was held back from network tv. Lynch has opened up the world of Twin Peaks with this return, as it takes place all around the country and starting with the infamous Episode 8 show even went back to the 40’s and 50’s to somehow show us the origins of everything we have watched. I love with Twin Peaks, you have no idea what will show up each week , and that makes it one of the best shows ever. Lynch has thrown the regular tv show concept and created his own work of art. With 10 shows left of the return, will we get answers to all our thousands of questions, or will we have to wait another 25 years to find the rest out.
Here are some awesome Twin Peaks merch for any superfan!!!
May 21st is the return of the critically acclaimed tv show of the 90’s Twin Peaks. Twin Peaks will debut on Showtime and will feature many of the cast members of the original 90’s tv show. The creator of the show David Lynch said the show will focus on the odyssey and journey of Agt. Dale Cooper. I can not wait for this show to debut, as it is one of my favorite shows EVER.
Twin Peaks returns to television on 2017 on Showtime. The reunion show reunites Twin Peaks star Kyle MacLachlan with most of the old cast of the late 90’s television series. Series creator David Lynch is back and i’m sure he will shock us and rock us to our core, as he did 25 years ago with Twin Peaks..Here are some previews :
