On Sunday night The WWE brings the first Pay Per View of the new year with The Royal Rumble. The Road to Wrestlemania starts always at The Royal Rumble. Here is the card and my predictions of the night.
Raw Tag Team Championship Match: Seth Rollins and Jason Jordan (c) vs. Sheamus and Cesaro : I can’t see Rollins/Jordan keeping their titles that much longer and I think Sheamus/Cesaro are a better team : The Winner = New Champs Sheamus/Cesaro
Smackdown Tag Team Championship 2-out-of-3 Falls Match: The Usos (c) vs. Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin : Time for a change, and time for NEW champions : The Winner = New Champs with Gable/Benjamin
WWE Championship Handicap Match: AJ Styles (c) vs. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn : I’m a big Kevin Owens fan and it’s time he gains The World Heavyweight Title to his list of titles held. With Owens/Zayn as co-holders of the title, it would be fun time on Smackdown Live. Winner : New Heavyweight Champion Kevin Owens.
WWE Universal Championship Triple Threat Match: Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Braun Strowman vs. Kane : Even though, WWE is pushing Strowman as a monster, I still see The Beast to best The Monster at the rumble. Kane is just thrown into the mix, but he needs to go back and run for mayor. Winner = The Beast Brock Lesnar
Men’s Royal Rumble Match : With Roman Reigns losing his Intercontinental title last week, this will lead to another Rumble win for Reigns. Rumors have been around for awhile that a Lesnar Vs. Reigns match is set for Mania 34. If Reigns does not win then i’m going to go with Nakamura. Winner = Roman Reigns!
Women’s Royal Rumble Match : I’m looking forward to this match a lot as it takes the woman’s division to the next level. Now with who will win ….My brain says Asuka should win , as she is super over in the wwe. My guy says that former UFC champion Rhonda Rousey will win, with Mania coming and Rousey winning this will give The WWE a lot of media attention. Winner = Rhonda Rousey !
Monday Night Raw’s twenty fifth anniversary show was a show that wanted to be old school and also the new generation, but ended up a hodgepodge of both.
The show aired from The Manhattan Center which featured the old school wrestlers , and The Barclays Center which featured the new generation of wrestlers.
The show started out with the promising return of Vince Mcmahon and Stone Cold Steve Austin at The Barclays Center. The beginning of the show should have started at The Manhattan Center, as that was the venue where it all began twenty five years ago.
After the opening viewers were treated to action mostly from The Barclays Center and not too much from the much heralded Manhattan Center. There was really no reason but greed, for the WWE to have the show from two venues, if they were just going to use The Manhattan Center for a Undertaker and DX promo and a few throw away matches.
The WWE should have just used The Manhattan Center for the whole Raw, with JR and The King on the announce team and Howard Finkel as the ring announcer, then it would be a truly memorable event with a old school feel.
The problem I had with the show, was the lack of interaction between the new and the old school wrestlers. The WWE should have had Steve Austin as the special Raw GM for the night, with a DX takeover during the night. The WWE had so many missed opportunities that could have been unfortunately. They could have had a the new age outlaws vs The Bar or something that would have had the old school vs the new generation of RAW. Just a lot of missed opportunities with the show. Hopefully WWE steps it up with the upcoming Royal Rumble on Sunday night. !!!!!
With the WWE show TLC tonight, featuring the return of the one and only Kurt Angle to the ring replacing Roman Reigns who is out “Sick” Angle returns to the wwe ring for the first time in 11 years. I still can’t see Angle return in this kind of match , with no buildup or promotion. What I see happening is at the beginning of the show Angle is going to give his spot to his son Jason Jordan. Time will tell, WWE TLC airs tonight LIVE on WWE Network. Here are some of the best moments of Kurt Angles career….enjoy!
Here are some Kurt Angle Merch for the superfans :
Another set of shows this week….The WWE shows have really found their way with the action. It’s an exciting time to be a WWE fan..can’t wait for Royal Rumble and Mania!!! Here are the best of RAW and SmackdownLive :
The fallout from The Survivor Series continued on Raw and Smackdown. Both shows were very entertaining this week , and I like that both of them got their brand working good. I’m excited to see where we go from here with the road to Wrestlemania coming soon. Here are the highlights of Raw and SmackdownLive :
Good show last night from the WWE SmackdownLive crew. No Mercy was probably this month’s best WWE show….The best matches of the night were definitely The Intercontinental Title match with The Miz losing to Dolph Ziggler. Hopefully WWE does something interesting with Ziggler, as he’s been boring for wayyyy to long. The world title match was good as AJ Styles scored a pinfall and beat up John Cena again. I think Cena will get his 17th title at Mania and then hang it up. Here are some of the highlights of No Mercy :
Now we know there’s a pretty good chance there will be at least one more match for Goldberg. It looks like WWE has inked a rematch to one of the most infamous matches in WrestleMania history: Goldberg may be facing Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series.
Jim Ross has multiple sources telling him the same thing, and I’d say Jim Ross is among the more connected among us, when it comes to people in the know. The two men have only met once before: at WrestleMania XX, where it was well-known to the fans in attendance that it was both men’s final night in the company. What followed was one of the strangest matches in front of one of the most hostile crowds in recent memory. Goldberg won that match, but now there will be a second installment … 12 years later.
Survivor Series takes place on November 20 in Toronto. Here is the full match of their first match at Wrestlemania……..
Another week of WWE action and again WWE Smackdown Live turning out the better show with more action and less fluff than Raw.
Best part of RAW was the cruiserweights battling to see who would be the number one contender for The WWE Cruiserweight Championship held by TJ Perkins. Brian Kendrick won the match and battles TJ Perkins at Night Of Champions. I hope Kendrick wins as he’s a veteran who deserves a good push.
Night Of Champions….Eh….I know Kevin Owens is going to keep the title as he just won it and makes a great heel champion and its better for Seth Rollins to be in chase for awhile , until he goes against HHH probably at Mania….I’m not really looking forward to Night Of Champions as its just a EH card..Come on WWE start picking up the pace or you are going to be left behind, from the WWE Universe having WWE overload.
WWE Raw and SmackdownLive were both good shows, as both shows stepped it up this week with good shows. I think WWE is getting it stuff together with the brands of Raw and SmackdownLive.
Raw crowned the new Universal champion in Kevin Owens. Triple H interfered in the match and gave a pedigree to Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, which lead to a Kevin Owens victory. Why Triple H turned on Seth, we will hopefully find out next Monday on Raw. Owens is going to be a great heel champion, I hope the WWE doesn’t screw it up.
On Smackdown , I like that they are building up The Miz as the intercontinental champion. I hope this leads to a better feel of the I.C. title as back in the day, it was the second belt right behind the championship.
Here are some of the highlights of Raw and SmackdownLive :
Wow..love the emotion and the passion in this video…..Not sure if it was real or fake…Maybe down the road we will see a Daniel Bryan back in WWE….WWE where anything is possible…Possible Mania match?????
