Star Trek : Discovery News !!!!!

As the first live action Star Trek series since Enterprise was cancelled more than a decade ago, the pressure is on for Discovery to get pretty much everything right — and the writers are taking that challenge very, very seriously.

We’ve already heard that Discovery would toss out Gene Roddenberry’s golden rule of not having direct conflict among the crew, but don’t think that means the new Trek series will be throwing out much anything else from the beloved sci-fi franchise. In an interview with CNET, producer Alex Kurtzman said they plan to revisit themes and ideas from The Original Series (Discovery is technically a prequel to the franchise-starter), while also filling a writers’ room with hardcore fans.

Taking that a step further, Kurtzman said they literally have a few Trekfact-checkers in the writers’ room to ensure that any story or episode ideas don’t step on the toes of established facts and stories within the universe. Check out an excerpt from his comments below:

“If you are a fan of Trek you are going to see a lot of things which hearken back to the original series and elements of the original series…I’m not just talking plot, but the spirit of what that show was. We are going to be revisiting a couple of things on Star Trek: Discovery that I think people are going to find familiar. Without spoiling anything we are adhering to a timeline and sticking to the rules, but also I think finding some new areas and avenues that have only been alluded to, but never fully explored.

You’ve got a roomful of people with very different and very devoted relationships to Star Trek in that writers room. And that carries on a pretty proud tradition of Trek being written by fans. You have to respect canon as it’s being written. You can’t say, ‘That never happened.’ No, no no, you can’t do that, they would kill you. Star Trek fans would kill you. No, you have to respect canon. You have to understand the timelines and what the different timelines were and what the different universes were and how they all worked together. You have to keep very meticulous track of who, what, where, when and why. And we have people in the writer’s room whose sole job is to say, ‘Nope, can’t do that!’”

It’s obviously not uncommon for a new installment in a major franchise to double-check the facts along the way, but for Trek fans, it’s an encouraging thought to know the Discovery team is taking what’s come before so seriously. If they can strike a balance of doing something fresh while also respecting the franchise’s roots, Discovery truly could be something special.

Star Trek: Discovery premieres September 24 on CBS, and the series will run as an exclusive on the network’s CBS All Access streaming service.

The Kevin Owens Story DVD Review !

Kevin Owens has one of the fastest selling WWE DVDs/Blu Rays in quite some time and for good reason.

Fight Owens Fight – The Kevin Owens Story was released on July 4, 2017. In what was a little surprise, both the Blu Ray and DVD editions on Amazon were backordered immediately. Best Buy in Sioux Falls had two left and you bet that I picked one up. I’m sure WWE will be pushing more of them out across the country soon.

For me, this was an immediate purchase. Kevin Owens [Steen] has been one of my favorite wrestlers for about a decade. His work on the independents speaks for itself and the man always deserved to get to the WWE.

But it wasn’t just that simple.

The 50-minute documentary takes a look at his road to the WWE. Everything is covered from his training with Jacques Rougeau in Montreal, his opportunity to get exposure in the U.S. through CZW, and his run with Ring of Honor. His road was never one with the smoothest of paths, and his fellow friends and wrestlers never believed that he would make it to WWE.

His relationship with Sami Zayn (who does admit that he was El Generico…so I guess we can put the whole kayfabe helping orphans in Mexico story behind us) is also detailed out. They talk a bit about the development of the year-long program in ROH between 2009-2010 (seriously if you haven’t seen it you need to). The documentary also includes a story in which Zayn signed his WWE contract in front of Owens. For Zayn, it was a show of accomplishment that they both could celebrate. For Owens, it was the opposite that he wasn’t what the WWE was looking for.

He might have lacked the certain “build” that the WWE looks for, but nobody was ever able to deny his in-ring ability and his ability to cut promos. He is a natural when it comes to connecting with a crowd and that has pushed him to where he is today!

The DVD is a MUST for any Kevin Owens/ Steen fan from WWE to ROH!!!

Here are some of the best matches in the history of Kevin Owens / Steen :

The Last Scene Of Twin Peaks The Return !

Is this what we are going to see the last scene of the relaunched Twin Peaks which is airing on Showtime. Oz closely resembles the fine town of Twin Peaks. Could this be all in Coopers mind????? Time will tell what David Lynch has in store for us in the world of Twin Peaks.

Comic-Con: ‘Twin Peaks’ Making Confab Debut In Hall
HEXCLUSIVE: Better stock up on a couple cups of joe and some pie if you’re in San Diego later this month because Twin Peaks is bringing its unique weirdness to Comic-Con for the first time.

Comic-Con: ‘Doctor Who’ Brings Peter Capaldi Back To Hall H One Last Time; ‘Dirk Gently’ To Make Debut

After the long-expected The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones announcements plus Doctor Who back in Hall H, it looked like all the big TV panels were public knowledge. However, turns out David Lynch and Showtime had a surprise for everyone, I’ve learned. With a number of cast members likely in attendance, the premium cabler’s revival of the iconic series created by Lynch and Mark Frost will be appearing in Hall H on July 21 in the afternoon, it seems. Being that the GoT panel is set for 1:30 PM and AMC’s Preacher making its Hall H premiere at 4 PM, Twin Peaks is expected to take the stage around 2:45 PM.

Showtime did not respond to a request for comment. Nor is it clear if Lynch will be onstage in Hall H.

Having debuted on May 21 with a two-episode opener, the technically third season of Twin Peaks has seen the return of Kyle MacLachlan as FBI Agent Dale Cooper and now his evil doppelganger, as well as cast members such as Michael Horse, Mädchen Amick, James Marshall and the Sheryl Lee-portrayed Laura Palmer herself among others from the original early 1990s series.

Also back in the new Twin Peaks, which I called “sometimes intentionally tedious, and amazing at the same time” in my video review, is director and co-writer of the 18-episode limited series Lynch as the FBI’s Gordon Cole and The X-Files’ David Duchovny as fellow FBI brass Denise Bryson. They and other past cast members are joined by a bevy of new additions to the franchise such as Naomi Watts and Laura Dern, who worked with Lynch on the features Mulholland Drive and Wild at Heart, respectively.

Predicting if Lynch will be at SDCC or any moves the director intends to make is often a mug’s game, but the 2001 Palme d’Or winner was in attendance for the Twin Peaks screening at the Cannes Film Festival just a few days after the revival’s cable debut so … guess you’ll have to be one of thousands in attendance at Hall H to find out for sure.

Deadline will be at SDCC this year as well as in Hall H and more as co-Editor-in-Chief Mike Fleming Jr, Anthony D’Alessandro and I lead our coverage from July 20-23.

Joey Boots Drugs, Robbery and Booeybombs

482t84o

Joey said that he was 15 at the time and he was doing drugs back then. He had run away from home at that age so he was out on the street hustling and selling drugs. Howard said that he should write a book about all of this stuff because he’s a good writer. Joey went on to say that he was trying to score drugs at the time. He was behind some bus terminal and was doing any drug he could get his hands on. He also had a massive burglary ring going on out on Long Island back then.

Joey said that it was so long ago that he didn’t remember all of the details. It was way back in 1982. He said he was talking to some guy at the Port Authority and the guy said he had some weed and coke if he wanted it. The guy was about 30 years old and looked kind of like Jon Hein but smaller. Howard said that’s not hot. Artie said that’s kind of funny because this is when Joey’s life ”Jumped the Shark.”

Joey said he got back to the guy’s apartment and the guy must have given him some kind of ruffies or something because his head was spinning after just a short time. He didn’t feel right and the guy had some power. The guy reached out with three fingers and grabbed him by the neck. He squeezed it and pulled out a knife. The guy said he knew he was going to rip him off and held the knife to him. He said he was then thrown down on his bed and his pants were pulled down. He thinks the guy made him pull them down. He thought it was the end of his life at that point.

Joey said he then got raped by the guy. Joey’s voice was quivering as he was telling the story and it sounded like he was about to cry. He said he doesn’t remember all of the details but he thought he was going to die. The guy kept calling him names and said that he would kill him like he had done to others. Joey said that the guy admitted that he had done this to other kids and he would do it again. Joey said that the guy raped him once and let him go because he liked him.

Related imageJoey said he thinks the guy let him go because he just let the guy do what he wanted. He said he’s never told anyone this story before in his life. Even his family doesn’t know what happened. He said he tried to forget about the whole experience.Joey said that he also had the burglary thing going on back then and got caught and served time for that. He said that was some dumb stuff he did when he was a kid and he would never do anything like that again. He said he’s never been with another man since that rape. He told Howard that he got arrested for the burglaries and kept doing them even after getting out of jail. He used to wait around the bus terminal and let guys try and pick him up. He would go along with them into the stair well or alley and then he’d put a knife to their throats to rob them. He said he was getting revenge on the guys who were trying to get something off the little kids. Howard said that Joey is kind of like Batman in that way.

joyboots12Joey said that he did that to about 10 or 12 of those guys but that’s the kind of life he had back then. He didn’t give their money to charity, he gave it to drug dealers instead. Joey said that a couple of years after that he was in prison and he saw the guy who raped him. He was actually working there at the prison, not as a guard, but in another fashion. He said that the guy was a drug and alcohol counselor. He said that the guy would tell stories about doing young girls but he was full of crap according to Joey. Howard thinks that Joey should turn the guy in.

Howard took a call from a guy who said that he had a similar thing happen to him as a kid. He just got out of rehab as well. Howard said that it’s good that Joey is going into rehab. Joey said that it really doesn’t bother him like it did back then. Robin thinks that it comes out in other ways even if he thinks it doesn’t bother him.

Captain Janks called in and said that he would like to take Joey out to dinner when he gets out of rehab so they can go get smashed. He was kidding and told Joey that he would like him to give him a call if he ever needs anything.

Joey said that when he was robbing people they were calling him the ”Stuff your Pockets burglar” because he would break into homes and just fill his pockets with whatever he could take. Howard told him he’s a brave man for telling that story. He also told him not to listen to all of those people who might say stuff to him after hearing it. Joey said that he’s going to be in rehab for 30 days and he won’t be able to listen to the show for 30 days. He’s not sure if he’ll have any internet access. Artie is pretty sure they won’t allow any outside contact for a while.

Joey mentioned that he created the Booeybombs to get more notoriety on the show, as his appearances and mentions on the show were slowing down.Related image

Panasonic just unveiled a new invisible television

Since the arrival of flat-screen TVs, there’s not been a whole lot to get excited about in the world of televisions – how many ways can you improve on a big slab of glass, after all? Well, how about by making it almost invisible when you’re not using it?

Image result for panasonic INVISIBLE TELEVISIONThat’s the thinking behind a new prototype from Panasonic that’s just been shown off at the CEATEC electronics expo in Japan this week. When switched on, it’s just like a normal TV. When switched off, it’s as transparent as glass, meaning you can see the wall or shelving behind.

Panasonic describes it as the “future of display screens” – although as you might expect, the company’s staying tight-lipped about the technology behind its transparent TV, just in case its competitors have something similar in mind.Image result for panasonic INVISIBLE TELEVISION

According to Mat Smith at Engadget, the screen is made from a fine mesh embedded in a glass panel.

You can slide the panel around too, at least in Panasonic’s demo clip, where the TV performs double duty glass pane of a cabinet:

Because it can be moved around, you can easily get at shelves behind it, or adjust the height of the display depending on who’s watching.

Importantly, the screen uses the latest OLED (organic light-emitting diode) technology, where each pixel lights itself (rather than being lit from behind).

Traditionally, OLED panels put a thin layer of plastic between two electrodes on top of a glass slab. Because of this, when the electric signal disappears, the slab can look virtually transparent.

OLED technology requires very little power too, which is why panels like this can be so thin. Eventually, tech firms are hoping to develop flexible OLED screensthat you can bend or even roll away.

And this isn’t just for your favourite crime drama or soap opera either – Panasonic’s marketing spiel envisions people using the display to control smart home devices, play music, or maybe even set the mood with a series of themed images.

Panasonic originally showed off the technology at CES in Las Vegas earlier in the year, but the company’s engineers say the latest version of their invisible television looks even more transparent when switched off, and brighter when switched on.

Unfortunately, despite the progress they’re making, it looks like it won’t be ready to buy for another three years or so, according to company representatives.

But that might actually be a good thing – it’ll give us some time to save up for it.

Howard Stern to CNN: I never ‘confirmed’ Trump backed Iraq War

Howard Stern is not happy with CNN.

The Sirius XM host slammed CNN for reporting he “confirmed” Donald Trump had supported the Iraq War in 2002.

Stern claimed CNN took his words out of context when they published an article with the headline “Howard Stern says Trump backed Iraq War in 2002” last week.

“I got so upset because, you know, let’s face it, tapes from our show featuring Donald Trump have been used in the campaign,” Stern said during his Monday show. “And the other day I was talking to Robin [Quivers] on the air, and I said to her, ‘Yeah, you know it was really surreal sorta laying there in bed watching them mention my name on the debate.’ And I said, basically for people who might not be aware, I said, ‘Yeah, Trump was on our show, and he was talking’ — I asked him about the Iraq war, and he said that he was for it.

He continued, “So, then there was a big screaming headline on CNN: ‘Howard Stern Now Confirms’…This was on CNN…I said nothing new. And so I emailed Trump and I wanted to explain to him that, uh, that is not what I said.”

Stern added that the only thing he will confirm is that the tape is from his show.

“That much I can confirm. That’s all I was saying. That’s why they mentioned me at the debate. But I don’t know how CNN came up with that headline.”

Trump appeared on Stern’s show in 2002. He was asked if he supported the Iraq War to which he tepidly responded, “Yeah, I guess so.”
