In the revival of Twin Peaks, David Lynch and Mark Frost critique our nostalgia. Season 3 looks inward at what revival is, and why we’re so eager to return to past shows we loved
On May 17th 2017 Twin Peaks returned to TV, after a twenty five year layoff and it felt like maybe a week went by that we hadn’t seen it. I never thought we would ever see Twin Peaks back after the movie Twin Peaks : Fire Walk With Me , but David Lynch and Mark Frost brought it back but also opened up the world of Twin Peaks to a new generation.
Lynch and Frost could have just returned to the town of Twin Peaks, but instead they created a new world with awesome characters as The Mitchum Brothers , Dougie Jones and so much more. These characters had the traits of Twin Peaks as they were weird and wild and fit into the Lynch universe perfectly.
It was just great to see all the old characters again such as Hawk, Lucy , Deputy Andy and the new Sheriff Truman . It was sad to see the end come for The Log Lady, as she passed after her final call to her friend Hawk….Goodnight Margaret……
It was great to finally see the elusive Diane played by the awesome Laura Dern in a hysterical role. And seeing FBI agents Cole and Albert back for their final mission was both awesome and sad , as the great Miguel Ferrer passed after filming of the show.
I know this wasn’t the last time we will get a visit to the town of Twin Peaks, but who knows what Lynch and Frost have in mind for us and the people who populate that town. Welcome back Twin Peaks, and I hope it doesn’t take another twenty five years to see you again……….

Here are some awesome Twin Peaks gifts for any superfan :
Twin Peaks ended its return on Showtime , last night with a two part shocking finale. This was a perfect ending to the Twin Peaks series and a new beginning of new Twin Peaks stories for future movies and tv shows.
I hope Lynch and Frost bring more stories from the world of Twin Peaks. This is not the end…..I’ve been a fan of Twin Peaks for over twenty five years, and I am satisfied with the ending. I’m sad that this return is over and i’m waiting to see what is next in the world in Twin Peaks .
The countdown is on to the two part Twin Peaks finale on Showtime. The Twin Peaks fans are all trying to figure out what David Lynch and Mark Frost have for us on Sunday. After 25 years, we have had 16 episodes and now we have most likely THE LAST Twin Peaks forever. Here are some predictions from a fellow Twin Peaks superfan :
the Japanese discovered Twin Peaks through shared VHS tapes and Wowow, a satellite-TV channel. Fans there became just as rabid for the show, if not more so: While the 1992 prequel film, Fire Walk With Me, fared poorly in the U.S., it did really well in Japan—where it was released first.
To build on that momentum, Lynch and some cast members gathered ’round to create a series of ads for Georgia Coffee, a Coca-Cola-owned canned coffee brand, just for the Japanese market.
Like the series, the ads are quirky as all hell and feature their own mystery—the disappearance of one man’s Japanese wife. Four spots lead up to the story’s conclusion, but there’s a lot to appreciate here for Western fans, too.
